Some Crafts Complete

SO I have finally gotten some crafts done and I really like them so far.

A neighbor of mine and her husband have been gutting there house and making it look gorgeous. One of there done projects is there kitchen. So I asked if I could have there old drawers and shelving so make some crafting projects, they said of course. They are so great, thanks again. I am finished with the drawers, but the rest is still in the making, I am excited about the rest as well. So this is what I made:

Claire helping me take the hardware of the drawers, this is what the drawer started at:
after spray painting the drawers (I still need to finish the brown one, but it is going in the babies room so I am still figuring out what to do)
using some scrapbook paper and modge podge I added some fun paper and flowers to the inside
putting the handles back on, added some ribbon, and drilled holes for the dowels. I made ribbon holders. Aren't they fun, and it cost me only the cost of the spray paint! Now I can get to my ribbon without having to take it all out and see what I have. I just have to look and pull. so great!
This is a toy box, I found it at a garage sale type place, it is located in a barn, and my sister found it online because they said Dead people's garage sale, or something to that effect. Who could pass that up. It was a gross yellow color and the inside had bugs and webs inside, so I won't show you that picture.
Before:
After:

Now all of our stuffed animals have a home, besides on the floor. I love it when things have homes!

My next projects include:
The bases for the drawers and the door, making more homes for my crafting and scrap booking supplies, which means the wood table my stuff is sitting on now is getting a new home, I will be painting and recovering the table to sit as a decorative table.

and this one is almost finished. I just recovered old books, I need to add a few embellishments and I will love them more.
I also got some old golf clubs at Salvation Army, since my husband is a golfer and will be adding those to my decor as well.

What fun when projects come together. I love a little craftiness in my life!!

Cooper Campout 2010

So we had our Cooper Camp out a couple weeks ago. Brandon and I were in charge this year. We headed to Scofield Reservoir, and we decided to have a theme. We were all about Boot camp. Besides that we did lots of other things:

This little boy got the best skipping rock, and his Dad skipped it.
This picture is cool, thanks to my sister for taking it. There was lots of swimming

We had TRE's (treats ready to eat), instead of MRE's (Meals ready to eat), notice my brother is the one with his nose in the bag ;)

There were fish caught,

lots of watermelon to eat, (don't you just love this face),
(and this face) and water to be splashed in.
We got Dog Tags, that say Cooper Boot Camp 2010
More rock skipping, and hoping the big fella's (in the water) make it to the other side and back with out drowning :)
Crawdad's to be had
and priceless faces when picking one up.
Claire slept in a sleeping bag this year and LOVED it!
We made boats and tried to see how many weights we could put in them before they sunk.

then took our boats to the water on string and let them float, and float.
Claire taking a nap, can you see her? Don't worry we uncovered her head, it was hot!
We had marshmallow gun wars, we started out shooting army men...
ended with a full on war.
The big kids I think had more fun then the little ones

The group of marshmallow fighters
Claire trying it out
Of course there were rocks to be picked up, moved and picked up again.
We had a great time, it rained on us, but just briefly everyday, we had great food, s'mores, a camp fire, games, good company and just plain old fun. Can't get enough of this family!! can't wait for next years!!

So much to do...

so little Time!!!

I was sitting down this morning and writing my list of things to do for the day. Three pages later, I realized I need to get cleaning and organizing, getting projects done and feeling focused.

Well, because in 8 weeks, give or take some time, I will have a new baby to cuddle and feed, and change and clean. I have to much to do before then to sit and be unfocused. I have a birthday party to get ready for, a two year old to squeeze and feed and kiss and love. Two doctor's appointments for the girl, some for myself and an anniversary to celebrate all before he comes.

And yet, here I am posting about being focused, and yet am a little unfocused, because my sweet little one, who throws tantrums, and gives kisses and loves treats, is sleeping in her bed having great dreams. Maybe I deserve to be a little unfocused for a few more minutes.
