sleeping soundly

Claire a couple of nights in a row was having trouble sleeping, so she found a spot that was comfortable and settled in for the night!!

Discovery Gateway

Well, I was invited by my SIL and her sister to head over to the Discovery Gateway. This is what we did:
jumped out of a helicopter
flew one too
rode in the back of the helicopter
Cashiered
Fed horses
Learned ALL about water
painted with water balloons
pushed buttons
drove while standing up
and rode a horse and

went home and slept like babies.

A little More Claire

Well Claire is always doing something fun and exciting these days, so here are some more. Claire has learned to fold her arms when we pray, and can now make it through an entire prayer before talking, eating, walking away, etc.. She will fold her arms and start to talk, she speaks the same way we would if we were praying, it is so cute. When we say family prayers at night, we ask her if she wants to say prayers and then brush teeth, and get in bed. She nods, comes from where ever she is and is the first one to sit on the floor. She has been trying lately to get on her knees, but that makes her wild, and she bounces up and down the whole time.Claire has a new room. We have been doing some shuffling around our house. We are finally getting to projects we have wanted to do since moving in. We moved the computer to the basement were there isn't a door to close it in, and all my craft stuff in the toy room. I was able to paint that room while Claire slept, which made it so much easier to do then trying to keep Claire out of the paint. We put new shelves in the closet, painted and cleaned the carpet. You see those super cute polka dots on the wall...they are vinyl. So great, I wanted polka dots, but honestly didn't have the patience to make a template make sure the white paint didn't bleed, etc, etd. My sister owns a vinyl cutter, thanks Dera. It turned out great.
To finish up we just need to get a closet door. Then we can move on to the room that Claire was in. It needs a new paint job, new closet shelves, a new door. Basically everything we just did to this room , will be done to that room. Then we can move onto our other projects, all the bedrooms will have been painted and the main bathroom. So nice to be almost done painting.
This is how I found Claire when I went to get Claire after her nap. She is a little sneaker now that she doesn't have to walk over that pergo floor anymore, so I don't always hear her when she wakes up. I am talking all the toys downstairs, so she found a lot of her shoes. I asked her to say cheese. so she said "say cheese".
She has mostly pairs on the bed, she is sitting on a few I found out when she got down.

18 months!!!

Well our little Claire is 18 months, I can hardly believe it, but at the same time, love it. She is so fun and everything is so exciting. Here are some things about our sweet little girl.
She FINALLY got to play on the computer all by herself, I set up word perfect and she typed to her hearts content. Too bad i don't have kid pix or something fun like that for her.
She has found a new love. Coloring!! We can make it through sacrament meeting now with a few quiet books, coloring and if I have to play the piano in the meeting, a little I spy from the family behind us. (thanks by the way, a big lifesaver). She loves to lay on the floor and color, and read, it is so cute.

Claire LOVES SHOES, a girl after my own heart. She also loves to talk on the phone, so here she is Daddy's shoes Daddy's cell phoneIn Mommy's shoes she can almost get them on herself, but still needs help. She hasn't figured out that she needs them side by side, and I have found her in an almost full split, with a huge smile, because well, both shoes were on.
Just being Claire

One of Claire newest things is to bring me these beauties, she loves her pink sparkly shoes. She will bring them to me after getting dressed, our conversation goes something like this.
Claire: Shoes
Me: You want your shoes on already?
Claire: HUGE nod and a smile

Who can say no to that
She will wear them until nap time, them when she wakes up I usually have to put them back on. sometimes after her bath and in our pj's those beauties come back on.

The day this was taken she brought me her shoes and her jacket and she wore them both almost all day. did I mention she always brings me her shoes in pairs and always has, there is no joking around with shoes. (oh dear)

Claire can say

Shoes
cheese
milk
juice
ears, eyes, nose teeth (and tell you were they all are)
fishy
NO
yes
teddy
delta
kitty
puppy (and will tell you what a puppy says. Which is uh uh)

She is understanding tons and for the most part always knows what I am talking about, her ears don't always work. (hummmm we are working on that).

She is starting to throw her garbage away (for the most part) all by herself and she puts her jammies in the dirty clothes in the morning.

She is starting to even out, she is in the 65% for height now instead of the 90% and the 45% for weight instead of the 15%.

We love out pretty little girl and are loving every minute with her.

Daddy Daughter

So I have been busy and this is the first chance I have had to post about the Daddy Daughter Activity we had. It was a blast, and all the girls and the there papa's had a great time. We ate Sloppy Jo's then broke up into three different groups. One group went to the obstacle course, other went to team building and the third went to target practice. Then we rotated them through the three activities.
part of the obstacle course, jumping jacks

Team building. I put the rope in a knot and then everyone grabbed on with one hand and could not let go, but had to get out. Good luck!!
army crawl from obstacle course

target practice, with marshmellow guns, The best part of the activity I was told by both dad's and daughters
trying not to pop the bubbles started the obstacle course
target practice went from the targets on the wall to everyone in the gym
sit ups, in the obstacle course
I think she got something
just starting the team building.

As I said I think it was a great hit. Thanks so much dad's and daughters for coming and making it a great success.
